Junior Section
La Société Guernesiaise was founded in 1882 when it was called The Society of Natural Science and Local Research. The tradition of research and recording continues to the present day and this year the Junior
Section is going to approach meetings in a more inter-disciplinary way and concentrate on exploring and recording.
To start things off we shall look at the various record centres on the island starting with the Biological Record Centre and the States Archives. Then by way of getting everyone out and about and looking there will be competition to photograph the most abreuvoirs.
Each family has been given a copy of Richard Hocart’s book Guernsey’s Countryside. Richard has a section on the abreuvoirs in the book and Charles David has written about them on this website.
