French trip. We shall be arranging a weekend around the Granville area of Normandy and to Les Iles Chausey. If you are interested in receiving more information as it becomes available, please let the Secretary know by e-mail as soon as possible. Numbers will be limited to 25, and priority will be given to members of this group who register in good time, after which it will be opened for other friends and colleagues by invitation only. Please specify if you would be interested in visiting Chausey only.

| Archaeology Talk "Bodies of New Evidence: New Light on Herm's Medieval Population" |

On Thursday 11 July at 8.00 there will be a talk on the excavations at the cemetery of St Tugual’s Chapel in Herm. This will be given by Philip de Jersey and Jenny Cataroche. The skeletons discovered last year have now been fully examined and radiocarbon dated to the early Middle Ages. They are generally well-preserved and it has been possible to recognise pathologies and to make observations on life and death in Herm at this time

A visit to Les Annevilles Manor and its garenne. This house includes much of what was built between 1248 and 1265 by Sir William de Chesney, enigmatic though much of it is; and the only moated rabbit warren in the Channel Islands. Meet at the Manor. Adequate parking at both sites.
